Our Objects

Our constitution objects of Sowing Seeds of Hope our aims are set out below.

 

(1)   To relieve the poverty, distress and disadvantage of individuals and families in villages in Cambodia and Vietnam.

(2)   To consult with the people from villages and other stakeholders and respond to individual and community needs.

(3)   To provide tangible supports and projects that enhance people’s physical, social and mental health and well-being.

(4)   To provide programs and projects which support the development of new skills.

(5)   To empower and educate people to develop the skills to undertake projects that support villages.

 

(6)   To provide opportunities for employment in the local villages.

(7)   To provide supports and the mechanisms to enable people to connect with their family.

(8)   To respond in times of natural disaster and crisis.

(9)    To treat people with dignity without distinction of age, gender, sexuality,  ethnicity, culture, disability, political opinion, religious belief, or other.

In accordance of the above objects, the organisation may:

 

(1)    Provide financial aid to build the infrastructure to support basic hygienic needs such as toilets, water wells and showers.

(2)    Provide food relief and material aid.

 

(3)    Provide opportunities for education for example but not limited to, classroom resources, technology and scholarships.

 

(4)    Provide the support to enable people who were displaced during the 1975 ‘Operation Babylift’, and connect with biological family members.

 

(5)    Work with other Non-Government Organisations to build capacity of social/welfare services, educational youth and children’s support services, family programs, financial, legal and mental health supports and assistance for jobless families;

 

(a)  refer those in need of professional assistance to relevant service/agencies/organisations;​

(b)  obtain, collect and receive funds by way of grants, donations or other lawful method;

(c)  recruit and train volunteers with relevant skills to carry out the objects of the association; 

(d)  engage and pay any person or persons, not being a member of the management committee to supervise,      organise or carry out the work of the association and make all reasonable and necessary provision for the payment of remuneration.

 

(e)  do all such other lawful things as may be necessary for the attainment the above objects;

  1. The assets and income of the organisation shall be applied solely in accordance with the above-mentioned objects and no portion shall be distributed directly or indirectly to the members of the organisation except as bona fide compensation for services rendered or expenses incurred on behalf of the organisation.
